In recent years, due to the rapid development of brushless servo motor manufacturing and control technology, coupled with the progress of large-scale integrated circuits and semiconductor power components, its commercial products have increased day by day. In high-performance servo applications such as computer-controlled numerical tool machines and industrial robots, they have gradually replaced traditional brushless DC servo motors. Brushless servo motors can be mainly divided into two categories:
(1) Brushless DC servo motor (brushless DC servo motor), also generally called permanent magnet synchronous motor (PM synchronous motor) or permanent magnet AC servo motor (PM ac servo motor)
(2) Induction AC servo motor (induction ac servo motor).
Brushless DC servo motors use built-in Hall-effect sensor components to detect the absolute position of the rotor to determine the triggering timing of the power components. Its effect is like changing the mechanical commutation of the DC servo motor to electronic commutation, thus removing the limitations of the DC servo motor due to the brushes. At present, the general permanent magnet AC servo motor's return components mostly use resolvers or photo encoders. The former can measure the absolute position of the rotor, while the latter can only measure the relative position of the rotor's rotation. The electronic commutation is designed in the driver.
